F.A.S.T Shampoo and Conditioner | Review

I have styled, cut, straightened and dyed my hair so much since I was little (I was dying my hair red from the age of around 10!), that no matter how much i try to grow it, my hair just sits limp and lifeless. Six months on from my last hair cut, my hair still wasn't growing at all, not even slightly! So I knew I needed to take matters even further, and I found a shampoo called Fast. I was pretty dubious about buying it at first, as for a small shampoo and a small conditioner, it is £29.99! Considering there were hardly any reviews about this product, I knew it was a big risk for this kind of miracle hair growth treatment. But man am I happy with the results!

I realise the pictures aren't the best quality, and i'm really gutted that I didn't take a proper before/after picture. To be honest, I didn't think it would work as well as it has done, so I didn't really bother. But hopefully you can really tell just how much my hair has grown in such a short amount of time. My hair is now the longest it has ever been. Also note that in the first picture, my hair was straight, and since using the shampoo, i have not straightened my hair at all. So in the second picture, my hair is wavy, so some of the length is lost to the waves. You can hopefully also tell just how thick my hair has got from using the shampoo. It was pretty thick before, but now it is like a lion's mane.
I feel the need to mention, however, that if you are going to try this shampoo, do buy a high quality conditioner to use with it. Although you get a conditioner with it, I didn't find it was the best, and often sent my hair greasy really quickly. The reason I say all of this is because i've found that the shampoo alone leaves your hair extremely dry. The instructions also say to use it every single day, which I haven't even bothered with. Unfortunately i'm not made of money and my hair isn't in the best condition to begin with (plus i'm too lazy to wash it every day), so I chose to only substitute my old shampoo for my new one, when washing my hair every other day. So considering I ignored their instructions, I say their shampoo has improved my hair massively. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to grow their hair at a faster rate.

Hair Care | Struggling Hair Growth

I should point out before i begin this, that my hair is very slow at growing. And by slow.. i mean ridiculously slow. To the point that i don't even think it is even growing! Now just to prove how slow i mean, I recently told one of my work friends about how i'm trying to grow my hair, to which she actually replied "I just thought you liked your hair that length, and regularly trimmed it". I wish i was joking.

The amount of sites I've been on to find hair growth tips is ridiculous, and they always insist on getting regular hair cuts, and i always used to believe that. I've had mixed replies off hairdressers; some saying it's true, and others disagreeing completely. I guess it's true to a point, because it gets rid of your dead/split ends, but it doesn't help with the growth at all. In fact, if they are too regular, you're only going to end up with shorter hair.

Since the age of about 10-11ish, i died my hair red. Well not me personally, i wasn't that advanced! But i've always had my hair died, streaked and straightened, which i know can't have helped my hair growth at all. I'm using that as the excuse as to why my hair isn't growing anymore, because i can't think of many other reasons.

However, i recently stumbled on a new hair growth shampoo, called 'fast'. It was £15 for a 360ml bottle of the shampoo, which you are supposed to wash your hair with twice a day, every single day. Now i don't know about many of you, but i for sure cannot afford to pay that much money on a bottle of shampoo, which will not last long at all, regardless of whether it does or doesn't work. So i've decided to ignore their instructions and use the shampoo twice every other day instead, replacing it with my usual shampoo instead.

I'll be sure to post a review, and give my own opinion on the product pretty soon, as you're meant to see effects within 28 days, and i've already been using this shampoo for around 2 weeks now. But for now, i'll give you a timeline of my hair growth.
This was my hair in june, 2011. It was actually the longest my hair has ever been. Since then, it seems to have gone downhill rapidly.

August, 2012. It's probably not the best photo i have, but i don't seem to have many from that year for some reason. My hair somehow became ridiculously short- it was just past my shoulders.

May, 2013. I kid you not- it really did manage to get even shorter. Bearing in mind, i have around 2 hair cuts a year.

This was taken a few days ago. Granted, my hair has somehow managed to gain back some of it's length, but not a lot. I've now stopped blow drying and straightening and dying it too, to help even further with the shampoo.
How hard is it to grow long hair?!

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment | Review

Because of the amount of times i have dyed, straightened and hacked at my hair, i find that it takes a lot longer for my hair to actually grow nowadays (other than my fringe, which is so annoying!). I was recommended Lee Stafford's treatment, which i guess is a replacement conditioner, that claims to help hair that never grows past a certain length. I have read a lot of reviews about this treatment, and thought i would give it a go myself, since i had nothing to lose from it!

You can buy the conditioner from boots, superdrug and many other beauty shops for around £7.99. For me, i didn't think it was that steep a price to pay, since many of my friends had had good experiences with the treatment in the past.
However, note on the tub, the conditioning cream does not say it actually helps the hair to physically grow, like it states in the slogan. Instead, it is meant to strengthen the hair, and help 'sooth' the scalp. Which, in my experience, is what most shampoo and conditioning products claim to do by themselves anyway. Regardless of this, i thought i would give it a try anyway.

The instructions on the tub say to use an 'egg' sized amount on your hair, and massage into your scalp for 5 minutes, using the lotion every other day, until you feel your hair condition has improved. Taking an egg sized amount out of the tub every two days will obviously use up the conditioner extremely fast. Using a smaller amount seemed to have the same effects too, as long as it is appropriately dispersed and massaged in to your scalp.

The conditioner itself smells really nice, almost with a bubblegum scent to it. It feels really smooth and creamy, but is a pain to open and close the tub if you are using a shower! The conditioner is watery enough to enable you to simply massage it in to your scalp with no problem.

I've been using Lee Stafford's hair treatment for around three weeks now, and so far it has massively improved the strength and feel of my hair. Since i regularly dye and straighten my hair, this is a massive improvement, and my hair feels and looks in a lot better condition than before. However, i haven't seen much improvement in the growth of my hair. At first, using the recommended amount of cream on my hair, i also found that my hair would need washing a lot faster than previously, which is why i suggest using a smaller amount. Hopefully, as the treatment has improved the quality of my hair, my hair itself will grow better in the future. Although for the price, and size of the bottle, i would probably suggest a high quality conditioner instead, as this is all the treatment seems to be.
